On September 4, 2025, K9 Archer of the Hawai'i County Police Department, succumbed to heatstroke after being left in a patrol vehicle.
K9 Archer had served with the Hawai'i County Police Department for four years and was six years old. He was assigned to the Kona Vice Section.
