
On June 12, 2026, K9 Farock of the Fairfield Police Department (Texas) died from heat exhaustion after being left in a patrol car in Ennis, Texas.
After K9 Farock's overnight shift, Farock was left in the patrol vehicle until his handler retrieved him later in the afternoon. During this time, K9 Farock suffered heat exhaustion and died.
The officer was charged with animal cruelty.
K9 Farock had served with the Fairfield Police Department for ten months and was trained for tracking missing persons, detecting illegal substances, and apprehending dangerous suspects. Our prayers and condolences.
