During the early morning hours of October 16, 2026, Sergeant Jacob Roesler of the Clay Township Police Department (Ohio) was involved in a fatal crash while responding to a separate crash.
Sergeant Roesler, who was 26 years old, served with the Clay Township Police Department for three years with honor and a deep commitment to protecting and serving others. He was a dedicated public servant who made a lasting impact on their department and the community he swore to protect. Jacob loved the outdoors, his family, friends, and his dog.
The other individual involved was injured and we pray for their speedy and full recovery.
Our prayers go out to Sgt Roesler's family both at home as well as with the Clay Township Police Department.
