On November 5, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Police Agents (officers) from the Lakewood Police Department (Colorado) responded to the area of West Colfax Avenue and Wadsworth Blvd for a suspicious person. A suspect from an earlier hit and run incident was spotted boarding an RTD bus heading northbound.
When the agents approached the man as he was boarding the bus, the suspect opened fire, striking four agents and a civilian. The suspect was shot and killed by responding agents.
A total of four agents were shot during the incident and taken to local hospitals, suffering from serious to critical injuries. Unfortunately, one of those agents succumbed to his injuries. Police Agent Nicolas Allen Graham was that agent.
Agent Nicolas Graham served with the Lakewood Police Department for just under eight years. Our prayers and condolences go out to Agent Graham's family both at home as well as with the Lakewood Police Department. We pray for full and speedy recovery for the other officers and bystander who were injured.
